September 9th

This week was crazy! It was packed with stuff.

We had lots of zoom meetings, got the opportunity to practice my spanish a bit with people on the street, made a lot of chocolate ice cream for my companions, found some people for the Spanish Elders to teach, had a zoom meeting with our whole mission, and more.

Dawn is doing well. I'm going to keep doing bible studies with her after my mission over video call, so that's fun. She has has a busy week, so we only got to see her once this week.

Life is good. I have loved working hard on my mission and doing service projects, teaching others about Christ, helping missionaries run Facebook pages, studying the Bible and Book of Mormon, being with companions all the time, meeting new people, and other things that would make this run on sentence absurdly long.

Also if any of you have a trench you need to dig, ask the missionaries. That was definitely my favorite service project on my mission.

September 12th

This week, the world burned down.  Haha.

Oregon is on fire. Only a few missionary sets have been evacuated, the fires are in less populated areas, but the SMOKE IS EVERYWHERE. So we are in quarantine because they don't want us to sound like chainsmokers from walking around all the time. Air quality stinks. I actually like quarantine. Having the opportunity to do stuff outside is preferred, but there's always so much to do, inside or outside. We have pictures in front of the sky before it was bad to breathe it in. We are jumping in them. Appreciate it. My companions practiced their heel clicking skills.

We are cutting out a ton of hearts, we are getting ready to heart attack the doors of a ton of members.

So we met Jose last week (I think) and this week we went on a walk with him at this really pretty place called Fernhill Wetlands. We discussed God a lot and how he came to know there was a God. We also got invited to his granddaughters birthday party (us three and four spanish elders) so we went as a group of 7 missionaries to this party. The taquitos were amazing, so was the cake. We got to talk to Jose's daughter and she actually was really excited to talk to us during the party. She also told us a lot about God and her relationship with Him. We were going to go do service with them on Saturday but then the air got all smoky, so helping someone with their backyard was not practical.

Our members are amazing! Because we had to stay inside for a few days, 2 members dropped us off dinner and someone else is going to video call with us so we can share a message with them.

We are also doing lots for Facebook - it's a great opportunity to do some cool things that we haven't had much time to do.

We also made a cake that looked like a fire emoji. (Mom's question: Who does this? Answer: Penelope! )

Two more days of missionary work!

Life has been great. My studies this week have been a ton of fun, been studying a lot in Christ like attributes.

My mission has been fantastic. I have learned a lot, I am really excited to discuss a few of the things at my homecoming talk.

We stayed in level 1 but the air has been awful.
